RBG Reef * Little White Ocean

Rodrigo: as your tank is 28inches long and lights are only about 21.5inches long (they only light up 21.5inches) does the light unit illuminate the sides properly? Or is it slightly dark shade on the sides? I am not sure of the light spread on these T5.

Thanks.

Congrats! can't wait to see more pictures!

thanks!

Yes you can check 2 pictures with the light fixture on in the previous page. The amount of light covers more than the whole tank.

Rodrigo can you please tell me which brand of salt you are using?

very nice clean setup cant wait to see it with some sticks in it. how does that overflow box sit on the tank? it looks really clean, can you get a pic of the overflow in action

Wow Rod, that looks amazing. How's the sump working for you and the skimmer? My 170 Vertex cone which has the RedDragon pump stop working after about a year. I called the Tech guys at (Pro Line) in Canada and they said RedDragon pumps need to be clean with vineger every 6 months or so. Hopfuly that's the case. With my luck, I still have my RedDragon 160. It works as well as the first day when I had it.

Thank you! If you roll some pages back you will se that there is a cut in the side glass. Water overflows through this drop and goes into the overflow box that was glued on the glass. I'll take a top view picture so you can better undertand it.

Hi dude. I'm very happy with the Bubble King, just turn it on and bang! very dense foam, no time to break was need. Awesome. Yes I use to clean all my pumps once in a while. Specially skimmer pump and powerheads. And just like you I also have my old skimmer here, just as a backup if necessary. Hopefuly
everything worked out for you!

Wow Rodrigo,
You have a twin tank of Denadai's ;) Incredible sense of modern design/aesthetics, great technical decisions... All in all another 10 out of 10. Definately an inspiration for me! I will be watching this one alongside the Denadai's very closely ...

Hi there Rodrigo;

How is the tank doing. An updated frontal shot would be nice. :bounce1:

I didnt find it anywhere, but is your tank dimensions 29L x 20w x 18H? I ask because mine is a 47G at: 30L x 20W x 18H.

Also, how high are you keeping the ATI Sunpower above the waters surface?

I've got mine at 6inches above the water surface and I'm thinking its too high off the water.

My tank is going through some hair algae and quite a bit of diatoms.

Is your tank going through any algae cycles?

Thanks for the time taken to answer my questions.

Hi sahin! Tank is 70cm x 50cm x 50cm. Bulb's placed about 4 inches above surface.

Tank is doing fine. Yes I had some brown algae issues here too but fortunately they are almost gone.

Corals are growing, most of them rising from 1 inch tiny frag so I believe my tank will need some time to become visually good. Colors are also far away from what I'm looking for but it will probably come some day, just need to give it time.

Today's picture :)

Wow that is so nice and sleek, and you've kept it very clean looking too.

I notice that your plexiglass is sticking out...Did you buy a longer length of plexiglass for the Sunpower? If this is the original then you need to push the plexiglass right to the other end. The design of the Sunpower is such that the heat is taken off the length of the T5 tubes due to the air flow from one end and out the exit side.

Anyway, I bet your tank will look very beautiful in a year.

Can I ask you another question; roughly how many SPS frags have you got in your tank? I ask because I'm trying to figure out how many SPS frags to add without causing overcrowding.

Thanks as always for your kind assistance. :spin1:

Yes bulbs shield has shifted when cleaning.

Approximately 20 species of sps corals. Over time some species will look better them others so I will probably remove less attractives corals and create more space for the good looking ones.
