RBTA and sand

if i put a RBTA that is attached to a piece of rock on the sand will it venture away from it via the sand or release and float around........or will it stay on it.

Assuming it's not being blasted w/ flow and receiving a decent amount of light?

Wanting him to stya put location wise if possible

As long as it is healthy and happy with the conditions it will stay put.

LOL, some times these guys have a mind of there own. I had one that moved around for a few days until finding a spot that it liked. When it split, one of the 1/2s moved to a different spot in the tank with a little different flow and lighting and stayed there until I sold him and took him out of the tank.

Yeah I have one now and it stayed for like 6 mos, split and then wandered a bit till it somehow squezzed thru one of my 3 -1.5" CLS intake screens......

I want to place the nem now near the bottom front of the tank and fully isolate on sand and hope he won't venture of the rock.....

It's happy if you can find a rock with holes. Just put the foot in the hole and hold it for a minute for it to attach.
