RBTA and water changes

Well my I picked up a RBTA yesterday from my lfs, and he is doing extremely well. But, he decided that he wanted to stay on the rock he came on, which I could only place high up in the aquarium. My problem is that he now is only about 3" from the surface, and when I do my water change (monday is my wc day) he will be out of the water about 2". Should I move the rock he's on, or let him naturally move down as I drain water out?

IMO,would just see what happens on wc day and see if the anemone if affected by it!
