I have an Oceanic BioCube 29 gallon, with the standard PC lighting. 10,000K. I am setting up a new tank with MH lighting...should I wait or would this be well enough for a bit?
PC lighting is fine long term for BTA's. 10,000K is a good Kelvin temp. for them as well. Just make sure the bulbs are changed every 10 months or so.

It all depends... sometimes they might not even split. But most of the time with btas they do. I believe in a few months or so is usually when it does... right after it settles down.
wilawalo I would not try doing that. I had an RBTA under the nanotunners 144w PC hood and it did not open up as much as I'd like it to. I got a halide for it 4 days later, and it opens up really nice now. Just thought I'd share that.
