RBTA help

I got a 2"-3"RBTA a week ago for free that is bleached(pink) and isn't sticky and it isnt taking food yet. It doesnt have a problem attaching its foot and is very responsive to light. Just curious if there is anything else i can do to bring him back quicker. I was thinking about melting some small frozen foods down and using a syringe to put a little food in its mouth.

Its currently in a specimen container at the top of my aquarium under T-5 lighting and seems to look better than when i got it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If it's bleached, I would be against keeping it at the top of your aquarium directly under the lights. It needs to be acclimated to your lighting slowly so you don't shock your anemone. The best method I have seen to do this is layers of screening, you can remove a layer every few days.

Feeding small meaty foods such as mysis will also help in the recovery.

I agree with dalston that is should not be at the top of tank. I would go ahead and settle in the bottom of your tank. Either take it out of the container or put a rock in the container so it sinks.

If it still has some color then it will recover in time. The important thing is to get it acclimated to your tank so it can start to recover. The stress of being in a container will not help as much as if it was loose in the tank to find a place of it's liking.

Thanks for your replies. I moved him down quite a bit last night, and the container is getting nice random flow through it. It has more color than it did a week ago, but its still a washed out pink. The plan is to put it in my nano after it fully recovers in my 75. I also want to pick up a better light for the nano before i do that.

That is good news that some of the color is already returning. Keep trying the food every couple of days until you get a feeding response.
