RBTA hiding in the shade?

Have to start off saying that this is my first anemone. But after putting him in the tank about where I wanted him. He moved about 4-5" back under a rock overhang. So right now he is completely in the shade. Color is still a deep red and he is well attached to the rock.

Will it just take a little time for him to get used to the different light and find his spot?

It could be related to the light, or it could be that in the first spot it didn't have the type of substrate it needs (liverock with a cave/hole/crevice to attach. If the anemone has been in lower light than in your tank, then you will need to acclimate it to your light system.

I put him in a spot with nice hole for him to stick his foot in, but he moved to a spot where there is no cave/hole/crevice.

Flow is low-med.

Hmm. Does it look like it is open with tentacles extended? If so he may just be getting used to the light. They like to have their foot in the shade so he probably ran to hide that night, but it should eventually put its tentacles out in the light.

I don't understand why you have the issue Bro. :-) Being my 3rd nem he also remained right where I put him. I think its your clowns J/K.

I have only had my RBTA for a week or so but he did the exact same thing, low-med flow and a nice crevice in the lr but then he moved in between two rocks and under the "bridge" rock I put him on. My clown found him first day and has been ecstatic and the RBTa looks great, tips out and bubbled well.

The odd part is that he hides in the shade/ under the rock at night and then commutes to the top when the lights come on! Just wondered if he will settle or if anyone else has one that make a daily commute?
