rbta impales foot on birds-nest coral about 5 -6 little holes .He is in a container with air every few hrs i add fresh tank water . will he survive . looked in bucket and it seems he is moving his red tips .color seems OK but, foot is not clinging to bucket . What to do
The only thing to do is keep his water parameters excellent and hope for his recovery. They can be quite resilient when the water quality is very high. Keeping him in a stable, stress free environment is key. The bucket is probably not a good place for him. Is there any particular reason you removed him from the DT?
he was removed by wife while I was at work (had to take out rbta with birds nest for extraction . I figured bucket with air would be good till i got home. Color was good so after adding some tank water .around 8 pm put min in a smaller tank that has no powerheads .We will see.
BTAs can survive enormous damage when kept in proper conditions, buckets, not so much. Better to keep it in a tank with proper water quality, good flow, and a protected space to allow it to recover.
