Currently running 2- 96 w PC over 50 gal breeder tank, jump to T-5 or wait till needs bulbs. Tanks is not new but inverts are (rbta, PP Xenia, star polyp, colt) no fish but a sssht load of pods, rock has been in system for 5 yrs. So far so good w/ RBTA but it has only been in for a few weeks. Not intention of hard corals. newbie with PC & T-5.

PC's alone won't do it long term. T-5's will produce much better results and keep the RBTA alive longer..

What are the bulbs? Daylight, actinic, both?

PCs are that bad for BTAs ( all colors ) I had several red and greens ones for over 3 years in my 75 with 6*55 PC ( all 50/50 bulbs )

Is a 50 breeder 3 feet long? And how tall is it?

The tank is 36 x 16x16, currently using 1 95W 10K & 1 95w Actinic. Color looks good but don't have any idea on light output. I think that is PAR. I looked into T-5 when I started this project but could get any good feeback from LFS. I'm schooling now.

That is a fairly shallow tank, so I think might be okay. If you notice the RBTA getting lighter, or reaching for the light, I would suggest switching the 1 full actinic for a 50/50, but you might be able to stick with what you have now.

I have my GBTA under 70 w MH and it looks great! He is right underneath it so it gets the full intensity of the light.
