Rbta not the right color?

I have a rose bubble tip anemone when I saw the picture of it it looked really nice. But now that I bought it, the color is more of a brownish red instead of bright red. It also has a bunch of white marks on it. Is there a way to make it dark red? Thanks.

How long have you had it? Mine was slightly off color when I first put it in the tank but after acclimating for a few days it was back to the original color.

I would check to see where your lights are running compared to what it was used to. It could be that you are providing too much light, or that the display that it was in when the picture was taken had different intensities of blue that would make it appear different. If it's open and the mouth isn't gaping it is more than likely healthy. But if it spends most of its time pulled into a rock and hiding it's probably too much light. Also RBT need to have live rock with holes to anchor and feel secure since their foot is vulnerable, if it's not getting that it could impact its color as well.

In this picture you can see where mine is almost totally covered by the cave he anchored in. At night he will withdraw completely into the cave.

I can't speak to the color of the anemone, especially without a photo. But there are RBTA that have white speckles. They are less common and in some circles, more sought after.
