RBTA propagation tank??

I've got a 10 gallon shallow frag tank lying around(my old one) an as I've been in the hobby for a few years now and i currently have 3 tanks set up all doing well i was looking to start keeping some bta.

iplan on getting a rare white speckled rose/rainbow bta, its very nice, then i will let it split naturally and once i feel its been a few months and it looks healthy then i will start fragging it

questions, will a jebao wp 25 be enough for flow??
for lighting i know they require a high amount of light. BUT i have a aquael deco light from my nano 30 which has a 22000k colour temp but its pc I've tested it over this tank for lps and its done great, even thrown in a plating mont to try it out and i could see no problem, thoughts??

Wp 25 is more than enough flow, a Wp 10 would be more suitable I think, they like good flow but not being blasted!Make sure you cover it with some sponge as they will find a way into it if they can!
Never used PC lighting on anemones so can't answer that, I'd guess it's going to be on the low side for bta's, always used halides or t5, but found they grow much faster under 10k-14k, but they look much better under 20k but as your trying to propagate, id be aiming for good growth! Good luck!

I wouldn't use a 10gallon. As many people will tell you the smaller the tank the more drastically parameters will change which can kill the anemone. I'm about to set up a BTA tank and it's a 20galli. With 20 gallon sump.

Unfortunately you are asking for a disaster if you try to propagate them in such system. BTAs are a lot hardier than most people think, but in a 10 gallon tank I wouldn't put in more than 2 BTAs. They are funny creatures as some like strong lighting over flow and some prefer strong flow over intense lighting. You never know until they move to where they like to be. Generally most BTAs prefer strong lighting to flow. In any tank that you would keep a BTA you need to make sure there are some kind of socks over any powerheads. If not, trust me, your BTA will find a way to commit suicide in your powerhead. Maybe not today or tomorrow but eventually. I know someone who kept an RBTA in a 5 gallon tank and used saltwater made of Tap water, not RO Water. He had a small cheap LED over the tank and the RBTA actually did excellent in the tank.

A second note: The so called rare white speckled rose/rainbow bta is actually a BTA that is bleached due to lack of sufficient lighting. If placed in a tank with proper lighting that BTA will turn a Pink / Orange Color. They are not rare. You just don't see a lot of them at an LFS because the wholesellers try to keep them until they color up. They will color up quickly under sufficient lighting. Here is a pic of one that after just three days has started to color up...


Naturally you don't need to heed my advice but I do keep over 30 BTAs in a 185 Gallon Reef.

I think what the poster is trying to say is that's it's a rose bubble tip with white speckles on it.

http://www.charterhouse-aquatics.co.uk/white-speckle-rainbow-bubble-tip-anemone-medium-p-14895.html thats the bta i was looking at but decided to go to my lfs instead that way i can inspect the rbta i will use a aquael powerhead with filter floss to stop the lil thing from getting turned into mulch as well as marine pure for filtration, for lighting ive decided to go for the pc aquael light as it does produce 20000k as wellmas a very small par20 bulb for extra par. Im thinking of risking it and when the bta split andi have 3 i will sell one and so on so i never have more than 3
