rbta smoking

Last night I was watching the tank and my RBTA was fine then all of a sudden it scrunched up a bit and started letting out smoke. this morning it looked fine. has anyone experienced this or know what it was doing.

Your rbta is a male, releasing sperm. You should do a water change.

if its in the 20 gal i would recommend doing about a 8gallon water change and 5 gallon water changes each day after for the next three days. hopefully you have a protein skimmer

RBTA excretes some of the waste through its mouth also. Mine does this every other day.
