RBTA Split and Q

Likey the bikey
I picked up an RBTA Friday night from another reefer. It split within a few hours after going in the tank. 1/2 of it found a spot immediately and hasn't moved since.

The 2nd half has been moving every 12 or so hours. This morning I woke up and found the below scenario. It put itself on the outside of a rock and into the strongest flow in the tank, exposing it's insides. I'm guessing that it's supposed to have permanantly wrapped upon itself by now and this is a very bad sign. As you can see in the photo, it looks like it's disintegrating but I'm not sure if it's just the insides of an otherwise heathy situation. It's not withdrawn. I've turned off the circulation pumps for the time being (return, skimmer, etc are still going).

Pull it now? Flip the rock and give it another shot at mending itself?

I'm guessing that I should pull it but want to confirm with more experienced folks before doing so.

when i acclimate a new BTA of any morph i always turn down the circulation and try to keep the clowns away from it... after a day or so it should be comfortable enough for moderate flow and then adjust accordingly from what i can see its a gorgeous nem!

good luck!

Thanks all. This is pretty cool to watch - hopefully it will pull through. The first picture was 7am. The photo below is 6pm. By 9pm it had folded the last bit of guts back within itself. The circulation pumps are still off.

It would be cool to have a nice island full of these guys and some extras to share.

Here's today at noon. It's crazy to see it come back like this. I almost pulled it yesterday morning w/o bothering to post a thread. Hopefully it will finish mending and go find a home for it's foot soon so I can turn the flow back up for the rest of the inhabitants.

It's also cool to see what an Iphone4 can do on stock settings.
