I have a large RTBA in a 200 gallon tank. IT has split twice now in less than a week. There are a pair of Maroons with this anemone. I can't explain why the anemone has split twice but was curious if anyone knew maybe why?? Any help would be well appreciated.

Thanks,
Sailfish

reproduction due to stress possibly, are you unhappy that it split? if so you can sell or give away the clone. If you are glad to see one that has split then just be happy and know that it is very possible for it to produce many more of the same. FWIW.

It is not unheard of for a larger anemone to split more than once in a short period of time. The first split from my clone was into 4 daughters. The first three happened over the course of one day, but the forth came two days later.

FWIW,
Kevin

Sealowers.... No I am not unhappy that the anemone split. Actually it is nice that it did because in my 58 gallon I have a maroon clown that needs an anemone.

Now another question how to you get the anenome to goto a rock that you would like to transplant to another tank?? This I'm sure is not easy...

Thank you all for your reassurance, I have never had an anemone until recently.. I feel alot better now. They all appear to be doing well.
