As i mentioned i had bought two rbta's and the one up top was the one i thought was splitting but did not. How ever the other one i bought is splitting for shure because it is already half way and i did not noticie it earlyer today
Dag...I'm the same way MyBTA splits non-stop, I make probably a 100.00-160.00/month off of mine Some of these people want to "propagate" whatever if you ask me, I now have four 3 gallon tanks going and doing well. Never paying for anything out of my paycheck again! Pufferpunk.......................you're cutting them in half? What the....................????????????????????? Shady, go groom dogs and cats again, BTA's should NOT BE TREATED LIKE THAT! SHAME YOU.
it's about comments, suggestion and information....please leave it at that.
to say the least TKUDLIK.......
To me it could be that you have 4 gallon tanks your keeping BTA's in......and that shirley isnt enough room to keep that kind of specimen....you should truly rethink your comment to puffer.....as that is unfair and uncalled for.
I have extremely high regard for Anthony Calfo. He gets paid a lot & is asked all over the world for his expertise on fragging. You should see what he cuts in half! I was also shocked at 1st but he says it's totally harmless & safe for this creature. He said they are totally healed & ready for fragging again within 2 weeks. Certainly better than depleating the natural supply.
Folks cut shrooms in half all the time & they're a form of anemone too.
DAG - I am not saying that your RBTA's are splitting for bad reasons. Most likely yours are splitting because it is a good environment. But in drew55's case, they are definately splitting because of the stress. I have had 3 splits. 2 because of stress (pump malfunction) and 1 because of prosperity.
Drew55 - yeah that looks like a split. Is it completed yet?
Pufferpunk is right about cuttin' the anemones in half. It is possible and it is certainly no worse than doin' it to a corallimorph. Of the 3 people in this hobby that I hold in high regard, 2 of them have stated that this is possible; Anthony Calfo and Rod Beuhler. Once I get mine established in their new system, I am going to try my hand at this anemone fraggin' .
Has anyone ever tried cutting a carpet anemone? I imagine that it is possible. I guess that it's just a little more expensive if ya screw it up .
