RBTA under 96w PC lighting?

I have a nice RBTA in my 110g tank right now. It is under two 5ft 60w (120w total) T5 lights and two 4ft 110w (220w total) VHO lighting. It is doing great, had it for two months now. I also have many corals and a carpet anemone as well in the tank. I am going to downsize to a 37g cube though and the only light I can get for it right now is a quad PC 96w bulb. Will that be enough light? I could place him up high, he could move around to wherever he finds comfortable. I have a pair of clowns and I am keeping them, I just don't want them hosting in any of my other corals, they almost killed my goniopora. So what does everyone think? Anyone have a BTA under PC lighting? I will eventually get a halide after the summer is over probably. Thanks.

I have had very good luck long-term with PC lighting and my RBTA's. If you want to go to MH, then of course you can, but as far as then anemones needs, you're are fine sticking with the lighting you have. I would suggest with a 96-watt quad that you go with either 6700K or 10000K. The 6700K is rather yellow, but 10000K is crisp white. Hellolights.com, among others have those bulbs.

Wow, thats great news. I was expecting a no! I will be getting the 10k and actinic 50/50 bulb, I can get it cheap thru my LFS. Now I wish I could keep my clams! Thanks for the responses.

with that 37 gallon oceanic cube you can easily fit 2 of the quad 96 watt hoods on there ive done it before at an old lfs that i worked at and it was powerful enough to keep whatever the boss wanted for over 2 years. even had clams with no problems.

Clams are going to need to be quite close to PC, certainly within 10 inches or so, and I would then say derasa. Before trying a clam, you would want to research PC's and clams.

I know clams and PCs dont mix well. I have two clams now, but plan on getting rid of them since my lights won't be as strong. I dont know about two quad bulbs fitting in an 18" wide yank, I dont plan on getting the retros. I'll be getting the fixture with legs.

if it is the same 37 gallon that ive had before then they shoudl fit just fine from what i remember, i guess that would just depend on the stuff you plan to put on th eback of the tank but they fit when i did it.i believe if you keep the glass top on they fit right around the middle "hinge" piece so you dont lose any light. sorry if im mistaken but thats what i remember from when i did it over 3 years ago

No problem, thanks for the help. I've decided to just part everything reef related I own out. I'll get back into the hobby another day when life isn't so hectic (college). Thanks for your help.
