Hi. This has been asked and pictured many times before but I am unable to find a clear answer. My rbta has what looks to be a clear body and I wonder is this normal? He eats just fine (I feed 1/4"+ size pieces of fresh uncooked shrimp from the deli). He doesn't host my clowns(......sigh).Tank is around a year old.water is all in check. Lighting is Radion g2 running a nice graph I got out of ecotech forum(I think it is from cakeman) with brightness down to about 45%.

from what I can tell your nem looks normal. Id say its pink not clear. I have two RBTA that look like this and one thats more crimson. Looks happy n healthy.

Natron, your BTA looks really good to me too. If you want a darker hue to the body for some reason feed it whole silversides. My RBTA got dark (body and tentacles) after being on a diet of silversides. When I switched back to just occasional shrimp, she gradually returned to the coloration of yours (which I happen to prefer). Mine has been in the back of my rockwork for years and I don't really see her body much anyway and I like the more vibrant red tentacles on the no-silversides diet.

Here's a shot from 4/2011 that shows her location and tentacle coloration, but as you can see, the base is not visible.

Here is a shot from March 2012 where you can get a glimpse of the base of the tentacles and you can see they are clear at the base and I imagine her body is the same clearish coloration.

She has been very 'happy' in my tank, hasn't moved, etc for years, so since yours looks like mine, I think your BTA is looking really good. You'll just have to find something else in your tank to stress about...I know I always need to have that bit of underlying reef angst;)
