RBTA With Green Tips?

How common is this? Is it a valued treat meaning, would you pay more or less to have one with the green tips? Anybody have pics of them?

Well, went ahead and picked this little guy up.

Sorry to say, but it looks like a regular semi-bleached GBTA to me. It looks a little unhealthy, too.

That's what I was afraid of, this came from one of the big on-line retailers, labeled under RBTA, I'm giving it a few days to come around but so far I'm not too happy with it:(

From the color it looks like right now, I doubt there's red in there. The reddish color you see is from it being bleached out. If it was labeled as an RBTA I'd contact the seller to get your money back.

I have to agree, it unfortunately looks like a GBTA. Hopefully you didn't pay RBTA prices. I would say it does have some hope and is probably just in shock from shipping. I would start it out on the bottom of the tank, especially if your running halides.

Thanks talon, It is on the bottom of the tank and half way under a rock overhang, I'm running 250 W halides so hopefully it's not too bright on the little guy. I did pay RTBA prices for it, I think I'll be writing them a nice long Email expressing my frustrations over this.

The good news is that it looks like it has enough coloring to pull through if fed frequently. If it is a reputable place, they should replace it for you.

I would love to see a pic of a RBTA with green tips if anyone has them? Sounds cool. My RBTA has green at the base of the tentacles, but that is common.

UPDATE; I sent the seller an email and pictures if the anemone, waiting to hear back. I'll keep you guys posted.

On a positive note the anemone has not moved, is keeping its foot attached and ate some mysis. Here is a picture from last night, not a lot of change.

Well it's been a month now since I first got this little anemone. The on-line retailer did credit back 50% of the cost because of the heath and small size of the animal. They did however stand behind it and still claim that it is a green tipped rose bubble tip. The color hasn't changed much in the last month, the little guy has been on the move up towards brighter light I'm guessing. It does appear to be starting to grow some new growth. It still takes food really well. What do you guys think?

I would have to agree with the others...looks like a GBTA...but it does look better.

If you paid with a credit card, I'd do a chargeback on them and just let them fight it out with your credit card...

Well its went all the way its rock island now and is within a couple inches of where it started. It does seem to be putting on a little growth and is starting to get some better color to it. I know the picture doesn't show it very well, but the foot is started to get a shade of red to it, mostly up towards the top. It might be an RBTA after all?

It definitely does look much better than before. It's possible it might be a red with green tips, but time will tell as it develops its full coloration.
