RBTA wont come out of his hidey hole

I put an RBTA in my tank last week and my Maroon started hosting him yesterday. I was so excited! The rbta went back into his hole after the lights went down and hasn't come back out since. Did my maroon molest him too much and he's just freaked out? Poor guy's been waiting by his hole since last night!

Any thoughts?

Maroons are very rough on anemone and can love a BTA to much. If your BTA was small and your maroon was pretty large, you may be dealing with that as an issue. You may need to remove the maroon for a while to let the nem settle in, or vice versa. The sump is a good spot to put the maroon for a while if you have a section for it.

He was lovin that thing hard core. Not sure if the size thing was an issue. Here's a pic. I hope they'll figure it out cuz my sump is full and my nano has two black ice occ. So no place to put him.

Most people reccommend getting anemone that are 2x or more the size of your clownfish. So if your clownfish is 4 inches, you should look for an 8 inch anemone.

I know thats not easy to do with maroons, but that is one of the reasons you hear stories of people having retracting BTA's with maroon clownfish :)

Best of luck, if you have to you can always move the anemone until it gets larger, but I know this isn't always an option either.

Came home from work and the RBTA has reappeared in a different spot and the maroon is right in there wiggling around. Hopefully they have worked out their issues!

Now I have a rogue Mexican Turbo snail who keeps knocking down all of my corals....I think he has a bad attitude!
