Rbta

she's mostly pulled in right now and i believe spawning since the tank is pretty cloudy. i'm brewing some R/O water right now to do a water change. the two mouths are completely separate though and my understanding was that it would split at the mouth...

i'll try to get a pic if she opens up soon...i think she's still trying to acclimate

When they split they usually hide and then pull itself apart. It could be splitting due to the stress of moving to a different tank, they sometimes do that.

i could see that being the case because it looks like she's sliding down the rock some

i'm hoping that's the case because i think the clowns MIGHT actually take to her. the female hasn't left the nem's side (at least that i've noticed) since i got home from work.

When mine splits, it often times grew a 2nd mouth and then became noticeably oval shaped for a day or two. I agree with Ray about the stress, that's most likely the case. Heather (from seahorse) was telling me about her attempts to get one off a rock by poking him with a needle to irritate the base and get him to release. All it did in response was split twice into 3 new anenomes...with the original still in the spot in the rock she was trying to get it to release from...
