RD3 and UPS

I'm planning to install a 1200 W UPS (2 x 12 V 9 Ah batteries) to feed the Royal Exclusiv RD3 60 W model that works as return pump in my tank. Any experience on how much time such a UPS might feed the return pump working at 50-100% power.

Alternatively, I know that it would be better to connect the pump directly to a battery backup. Is there a way to do that?

Thank you

Depending on your UPS, the manufacturers should have a calculator on their website. The RD3 is not a DC pump. It’s a variable voltage AC pump so there is no other way to connect it to a battery backup other then via the 110v connections on a UPS. And you need a pure sinewave UPS. If the UPS of your choice is pure sinewave, it will be mentioned in the specs.

Thanks a lot Slief.

I'll make sure about the pure sine wave feature. Concerning the calculation of the lasting time, it would be great if all the manufacturers had the formula, but that is not always the case. However, I have found such calculators in some web pages.
