Re-aquascaping

So since my tank has ich I'm going to take this time to do some re-aquascaping. I'm just wondering and this may be a dumb question but does the good bacteria on the rocks die if I wipe any of the rocks to dry them to apply glue or Putty?

No, the bacteria is very hardy.

Nope bacteria will survive and so will the inverts living inside the rocks =/ My worms survived when I took the rock out for a couple hours
