I think you just made the point here.

I have seen many cases of threads being closed where I didnt even see WHY and there was no explanation given.


How can we follow the rules when the violations are not explained.

I see many cases of " Closed" with no explanation whatsoever.

Case in point: I just PMd Billsreef today about my thread being closed ( This was an eye opener - cont. In the responsible reefkeeping forum ).

There was no obvious violation that the REGULAR posters on the thread could see yet the thread was closed after MONTHS of discussion for WHAT?..... I dont know.

It irritates me that I can invest months of debate & SERIOUS technical discussion just to have a Mod click "Closed" with no explanation or recourse.

I talk to MANY people in the hobby that say " Oh.. Reef Central... I gave up on that a long time ago".

I think you should at least listen to your "Customers".

I agree that RC has 100% control over content & topics ( as it should ) of discussion, but at least gives US some respect.

I've never seen a message board where threads are closed without a reason being given. I'll see a first post deleted by a mod and the thread closed with no discussion as to why. Also I've noticed a lot of threads closed without a warning even given. I actually have to double check what I post sometimes on this board just because I'm worried that there might be the slightest chance I could offend someone.
