Reactor Media??

I have a Reactor on the way now. I am wondering if it is ok to run 2 types of media in it at the same time and still have a possitive effect on the tank. I was wanting to run Carbon and Phosphate media in the reactor?

Two problems: they exhaust at different rates (most people change carbon out monthly at least, while phosban should last more than a month) and they fluidize at different flow rates.
