Hi folks was into the hobby about 7,8 yrs ago and would like to get back into it. I love the nuvo fusion 10g nano IM has now. Petfect for me as its not to expensive and not to big a footprint either. Can anyone gimme some advice. Maybe what heater to get and maybe how or what to put in the filter basket other than what comes with it. If anything comes with it at all. Also, is a skimmer needed as I plan on using live sand and live rock. Thx guys and gals

I really like mine. I upgraded the media basket and the pump. The stock basket doesn't fit quite good enough. They may have fixed it. I didn't want to get a skimmer so I put phosguard and charcoal in the bottom two spaces. I have filter sock felt (cut in a square) and filter material on top of that to clean the water. I do frequent (weekly) water changes.
The pump is fine but I wanted more flow, i have a mj900, also got the spinstream.
The heater I have is nothing special. I really don't even need it. My house stays around 74° and with the pump the tank temp is around 79°.
I am thinking about putting in a powerhead but heat will be my enemy.
Hydor makes a couple of really small powerhead (240 & 425).

The best advice I can give you is to get an auto top off.
