Really tall reef tank, has it been done?

I have been out of the hobby for a while but am ready to get a new build underway. I have had success in the past (see my gallery) but this tank would be a totally different animal if I do it. I have a perfect spot for what could be a stunning tank. I just don't know if its possible. The dimensions would be

38"W x26"D x60"T

Have any of you attempted a 60" tall reef tank? I was thinking I could run a closed loop through a PVC tower supporting the Live Rock to help keep water moving at the bottom and keep softies and LPS down low and select SPS up high with good LED lighting.

Cleaning would be a challenge but magnet cleaners and tongs could make it doable I think.

Thanks for your input

Your going to have PAR issues with lighting especially if using LED. Shallow, deep, & wide is a better design 10 fold, im guessing you may have room location width issues here. Water movement is the easy doable part. Sounds more like a deep water non photosynthetic corals setup tank with dimensions like that.
I have a friend with a tank that is just 30" deep & he hates it now due to lighting issues & especially when cleaning..........

Yes, proportions like those have been done but usually with much larger footprints. I know of one nearly one story tall tank in a bank in Germany. But that tank is round.
A tank like you have in mind would probably only be suitable for NPS and you would want to have a cemented back wall that you can pull out for maintenance.
Flow could also be an issue.
