Rebirth - 1500l

Alex, when do add salt?
When do we get this show on the road?!?

Hi Matt,

Right now I'm running GAC to remove any trace of chlorine that I used to wash the rocks and sand and GFO to reduce silicate/phosphate from rocks/sand/RO-DI water.

This Wednesday is holiday here and I must add the salt.
HW professional....this is the salt which I had the best results in my past reefs.

I'll add Biodigest as a bacterial source to accelerate the cycling of the tank.
2 weeks from Wednesday I must try some frag...to see the response.

Right now, be patience is the hardest part....:headwallblue::headwallblue::headwallblue:

Regards,
Alex

Salt: check.
CUC: check.
Macroalgae: check.

That's it for now.

I agree that your hardscape looks great! Macroalgae, for a refugium or the display?

Your TOTM was one of my favorites so I'm excited to see the new one get started!

The macroalgae are in a satellite tank that I use as frag/acclimatization tank.
I'll try them this time to keep the nutrients level in check.
Let's see.....
I like my previous 750l a lot too....I'll try to do something as balanced as it was.

And......................................................
My sump opened and.....leaked.

Sometimes I believe in a higher force, looking down......and testing my will.

When my tank leaked 2 years ago.. I felt the same way.. Should I continue? Should I throw in the towel??
I'm glad I continued.

It is just bad luck Alex. I don't believe in Reef Gods. I hope you will not be put off and will continue.

Well,
After two weeks waiting the new sump arrived at oct-02.
I've put it into place and get back to cycling.
No big changes:

On last weekend the corals that survived to the crash get back home.
All of them get opened in the next day and all of them seems to be very well on the new water.
I've put an acro as well for testing purposes, and it made it through. So, soon there'll some sticks again....:bounce1::bounce1::bounce1:

This is exciting.

I think a video once all is said and done would be tranquil.

I think there's not much to show right now......Maybe in a year or two...

After a month the tank goes well....diatoms have gone.....corals look happy....parameters are stable and ok.

The downside is the death of the 2 Green Chromis, less than 2 weeks after they get in the tank. :sad2:
