Rebirth - 1500l

Wow these are some nice macro shots.
Might try these tubes myself.
Thanks for sharing!

When I found them on internet I thought: If they didn't work well I will throw it away and lost 12 bucks.
It worths a try!

You've done an amazing job with those $12 tubes. I don't think they're supposed to make those pics. Beautiful compositions.

Thanks.
I like photography a lot and I think it's all about light and composition....as in a reeftank

Amazing photos. Thanks for sharing, Alex.

Thanks Bulent!

Some more macro photo.
Unfortunately I could't get the focus properly. I don't know if it is a problem with the tubes that prevent precise focusing, or if the image is actually grainy due to the high ISO that my lens forces me to use because of the small aperture size.
I also noticed a rather shallow depth of field. A few millimeters and the "focus" is already lost.
Hope you enjoy.

Yesterday I removed the circulation pumps to make some photos and my Vortech MP40 didn't return to the tank.
It was in the middle of the side panel glass, making some noise in the bearing and, with the 4 gyres, it was not essential in the circulation.
I'll leave it out for some time, but it's more likely that it'll be retired for good.

Breathtaking.

Would you share your sump layout and equipment in there please, Alex?

Hi Bulent,
My sump didn't change almost nothing from the start:

I still run a SRO 500 int skimmer (since 2010)
A SRO 5000 Dual chamber CA reactor
2 x 500W finnex titanium heaters and a Water Blaster 7000 as a return pump.
And is pretty much it.
The 2 x 150 TLF are running emptty, because I'm not using GAC, GFO or pellets at this moment.

My satelite tank is now with frags only.
I remove most of chaeto and the portion that I left ends melting.

Someday I will organize the tubes, pipes, hoses, etc.........
The overall mess bothers me a little, but, until now, I didn't have the time/patience to clean that mess

I know it's crazy but I put 2 gobies of less than 2cm each in my 2000 liters tank. Inexplicably they did not disappear.

Not crazy to me. My tiger goby in one of our favorite fish in my 230 gal. IMHO "crazy" is NOT including the small fish in a reef tank -- it helps create the look of a miniaturized reef I'm going for. That's what I love most about your beautiful tank -- it looks like you took a real reef "island" and placed it in your glass box.

It's fun to have fish that you can't always locate. Just a few days ago I commented to my family that I hadn't noticed our tiger goby for a couple of weeks. Shortly afterward, while eating dinner, my 14yo excitedly announced that she saw "Tig".

I added a tiny <1" sailfin blenny to my 500g tank a few months ago, never to be seen again... Until the other day when my 4yr old granddaughter saw it and told me where it was hiding! My tanks never cease to amaze me!

A crazy person never see the madness of another crazy.....:lmao::lmao:

I thought this fish will disapear in a tank that big instantly and forever... but I'm very happy that he didn't.
I like the details of a tank a lot...That little coral in the corner, that fish that don't swimm in the front of the tank, the sponges that grow beneath the rocks....

I totally agree!!!!
That's the real fun of reefing

Its the same reason that I call my 96 gallon tank a nano tank. I plan to keep lots of small creatures that will only be seen by the curious eye. That is also the best part of diving or snorkeling. There is often nano life that is only seen by the most patient observer. Alex - is ECO-Reef a company that ships to the US? I like their selection of fish that they offer.

Hi Choss,
They sell only locally, here in Brazil.
It's a great company, doing a great job helping conservation of the enviroment.
I have several fishes raised by them and I'll take some more.
They have a lot of cool gobies and plans of improve the variety of species wich they produce.

Wow, that is a goby you do not see every other day.
Thanks for the link to Eco-Reef. It is an interesting read.

Alex, it’s been a few months and your tank looks ever more amazing!
Your blue loripes and lokani bring me as much joy as they do envy!!
Just beautiful.
