Rebirth - 1500l

Test results:
Ra: 8,0
Ca: 410
K: 450
PO4: 0
NO3: 0

Ra and Calcium showed a little drop down, due the growth of sps, I think.
If this keeps this way 'till next week, I must open a little the outlet of my Ca reactor.

K, after some months over 470 due to several days dosing Potassium, mislead by a test kit out of date, is now at the point that I should keep for now on.

PO4 and NO3 still resding 0,0 at Salifert test kits.
Besides that, I've noted a better coloration on sps, after a change in the fish food. So I think that 0,0 aren't 100% reliable.

The change in the feeding was basically the replacement of all industrialized food by a mix of frozen seafood.
The mix is shrimp, squid, octopus, tuna and seashell. A paella mix that I buy on the supermarket.
I made the change after buy the anthias pair, as a try to improve their will to feed.
And it works very well untill now.
The anthias are far more voracious feeders since the change.
The fridmaniis looks like 2 golden fishs after eat. The P. sankey to heal completely its rotten fins. Yellow coris looks fat and bigger. Plus, my zoas are bigger and more open and growing faster than before and so the lps.
In the beginning I was interspersing industrialized with frozen food, but now I am only giving then the frozen one.
I should keep it that way from now on.

You're rockin' it, Alex!

Thanks Dave!

Wow, some of those acros are growing crazy fast!

Yes....Seems that the line that tear apart frags from colonies were crossed....and now the growth tends to be faster.

Already did some frags, to guide some colonies and to avoid contact in some places:

Wow, Alex, I really love these shots!
Such a beautiful scape. So open and balanced.
So cool to see the different perspectives.

Thanks Matt!
I am really enjoying this phase of the reef.
The colors are popping and the scape starts to make more sense now that the corals are bigger.

Montipora Rainbow...the coral that deserves to be named like this

This frag came from a wild colony. No ID, but is my favorite piece at this time:

My Red Dragon must be fraged.
After the change that I made in the fixtures support it starts to STN from the base.
I think it was because the light became too strong for it .
Yesterday I broke the colony in 2 pieces and put 1 piece in the small island, very close to the bottom and the other one in the big island, upper in the reef but not directly bellow any fixture.
Let's see if one of them can make it.

Hmmm, not necessarily. Many clown reefers that raise clown fry simply take out the rock the eggs are on and let them hatch in a fry tank. I'm not sure if it's possible to scrape the eggs off safely

Wow Alex, I hadn't checked in on your thread in ages and oh my golly gosh!! :inlove: :inlove:

Your tank and photography is just stunning!! I'm so happy to see your new tank is coming along so amazingly and looking just so vibrant and wonderful :D

A friend send me this link:

I read some threads and Chromis seem to be very difficult to raise fry....
I'll pass......

Hey Dom.....
Thanks!
You came just in time to catch the next chapter......
Take a look

First of all, after cut my Red Dragon in 2 pieces, the STN stoped and the frags look very good now.
I'm very happy that I could save it.
