Receeding dendro

Not sure if this is normal, this dendro I have is huge, when fully extended has a 2 inch diameter. I noticed the other day that it looks like some algae creep is making its base recede is that healthy or what should I do?

Maybe u should post in the non photosynthetic coral forum too...people post a lot about dendros, somebody should know
