Great tank please tell us how you run it additives atc.
I just find out that some reefers are adding bacteria supplements
are you ?

Great looking tank! How long have you had it set up for I just cant wait for my coral to start growing so my tank starts looking like yours!

Nice "Duncanopsammia's". Beautifully lg colony.
Those can go for as much as $80 a polyp here in the U.S.
I work at an LFS here and they charge $15 per polyp, and the corals are from AUSTRALIA.
Did you get yours locally or on the net?
Nice pick-up!!
Great photo's also.
In my photo's in the "red house" you can see my small colony that was just aquired.

Very nice, how many heads does that Duncan have? I bought a couple last month and they seem too grow pretty quickly when fed. Started with (1) and (3) heads and now have (4) and (6)or(7) each. Smaller little heads of course, but I enjoy the progress.

I agree with InLimbo, your profile is blank...what size tank is that? I like how you have the front open for swimming but all those corals and clams in the sand, very nice looking setup.

Thanks for all the comments.

Here are a few details for you:

Tank is 5'x2'x2'
Sump 4'x1.5'x1.5'

Filtration : Mineral Mud/ algae sump (no skimmer)

Lighting : Twin 250w Halides

Extras : Phosphate reactor, and canister of carbon.

Calcium is kept in check by buffering and water changes.

Feed Cyclop-eze every day along with a mixture of mysis, brineshrimp, flake food and pellets.

No additives are added to the tank.

Tank has been running for 1 year.

Forgot to say the duncan had nearly 30 heads when i bought it, no idea now. Ive even fraged a few and given them away as gifts to local reefers.

I dont skim as was advised to go for the mud/algea sump when i upgraded my tank. Havnt looked back since. All the corals expand nicely and all growing well without having to add extras to the tank so im happy.

As for Coraline, i like scraping and cleaning the glass so dont give it a chance to grow. The rocks dont have much either due to my urchin.

My tank is home made, you can see how its built here : www.pbase.com/snowsurfer under "My New Tank"

I love the clean, no coraline look! I do the same and always have people telling me that they dont believe my tank is very old and that I just set it up...LOL. Its a lot of work to keep the coraline off but well worth it IMO.

Great tank!
