It's Spring!!!!!!!
Felt like sharing now that I seem to have the cyano under control (insert quiet "œyay" here!). There are still a couple of light patches where flow is particularly low "“ the leeward side of the goby's hill for instance.

It's been a mildly interesting ride since the end of last summer. The angel was added to the DT in September and the YWG and bicolor blenny were not happy. I didn't see the YWG for six weeks and the blenny disappeared as well, never to be seen again. Then in October I found my Carpenter's wrasse under the couch; she had found one of the openings in the back to escape through. I was bummed after that and neglected the tank until January. I maybe did one water change a month for about four months.

Since then I've had to get rid of the cyano, up my Mg as it had dropped due to the infrequent water changes. I lost a few frags during that time because I had never cleaned out my powerheads. I learned a lesson about the importance of flow and a good cleaning routine for them!

I'm hoping that the corals will become happier soon. I've had quite a bit of color loss and not much growth. I've lost a lot of zoas and the ones that are still around haven't grown at all. The montis have lost color and are growing slowly.

Overall I'm loving the tank again though. The goby is now out and about all the time and has created this little hill in front of his hole (which is under that entire middle rock, I see him poke his head out toward the back) and has become quite the tough guy. Totally different from the timid fish he was last year. He'll even go after the wrasse if he gets too close to his burrow.

I'm looking forward to the swap next weekend so I can fill in the many blank spots. I've included a pic to get some input about what to put in a couple locations. I'd love to hear ideas!

Melanurus wrasse. Love him! Great personality, eats everything, took care of the flatworms I had. Love watching him go to bed at night!

Idea shots . . .
There are a couple small exposed areas (the one with the maroon coralline growth on the bottom - it's out of focus, sorry!) in the back that can be seen from the side/couch. I'd really like to put something there. Acans maybe?

What to put in circled spots? Will a pagoda cup work where I have it marked?

It's not much, but I love it!

Awesome tank, I really like it and congrats on getting the pesky cyano under control. Pagoda (turbinaria?) can get really big, I would put it on the top but be prepared that it might shade anything below it.

In the side nooks maybe some funky blastos or encrusting porities or montipora. Cyphastrea might be cool there too. Or a small scoly might look awesome tucked in there as well.

Thanks! Thanks for the ideas. I like the Cyphastrea idea! Or maybe I could move my blastos that are in the front. Hmmm . . .
