I'm going to be dosing this into 70 gallon volume was wondering what rate in mL/hr is safe. If someone can explain how to calculate that I would really appreciate it.
If you are talking about my DIY two part, you can add each part all at once to a high flow area, preferably in a sump or otherwise away from organisms. Add the other part a few minutes later.
I use a dosing unit.I think its great but it depends on your tanks needs.Since my tank requires multiple daily doses I found a dosing unit to work well.Plus you set and forget it.
I am not using the part one since my calcium levels are fine, I am mainly concerned with pH spikes whiile trying to raise KH. So basically as long as I dose into a high flow area am safe with any amount?
I use randys formula bake the soda at 350 for 1 hr.bake about 2 small boxes in a pan.I think you put about 21/4 in 1 gal of R/O water.I have the formula written down but you can get the correct amount from this forum.I use a dosing unit ,dose every 6 hr for 30 seconds.I use the aquamedic reef doser.I didn't need to dose the calcium as much or I thought so but now I have noticed corals are starting to grow and demand has gotten stronger and getting the twin doser was a good move.If you keep adding acros the demand goes up.5 DKH little to low.Try to keep it at 9.
The pH effect on adding 0.5 meq/L (1.4 dKH) using Recipe #1 is probably about 0.3 - 0.4 pH units immediately (although it may be less if the baking was not complete).
