hi all, always love this site, question is I know some sps are grow faster than others, I also heard that where you place your coral can also make differences in growth. can you get a good growth if you place them at the sand bed. please share your thoughts and experience.

things like plate coral, branch, and caps for example, where you all place them in the tank to get best results? thanks Lee:)

Placement definitely makes a difference. The lighting and flow requirements for your sps should determine their placement. Monti caps can be put lower in the tank as well as deepwater acros. Other species need tons of light and flow. I personally reserve my sandbed for lps or other non sps. But I imagine some sps could do well like caps and deepwater depending on the depth of tank and how powerful the lighting is. But sps really need to be secured securely to something to have stability to grow. I doubt a sandbed will provide that

When it comes to caps you want keep them on the down low as they will seriously shade out anything below when they grow out, unless of course monti caps are your thing.
