I have fuzz's Remora, and it is excellent. Wonderful product, easy to take off the collection cup without having to shut down the whole skimmer. Wonderful little time-saving features. Thanks Fuzz.
Just because I dont know any better, this is a hang on the tank skimmer, right. Does the mag 3 go on the inside of the tank? I have a mag 3 here. but cant picture how this will work. Anyone have any pictures available please?
Thanks again
Valerie
Yes it is a hang on back skimmer. The Mag 3 attaches by a short hose to the input tube which goes up into the skimmer body.
Here is a link to Aqua C's webpage with pictures and a download section for manuals:
The thing I like about the Remora is that there is no air line to mess with. They work by blasting the water in a jet into the skimmer chamber - which breaks up the organics and rises into the collection cup. It is a very simple idea that really works! And the only maintenance is to clean the collection cup every couple of days (when you dump the gunk out). And every month or so clean the spray nozzle and the pumps impeller.
Hey Craig - I'm glad to hear it's working for you - the lady who bought my smaller Remora just e-mailed me and can't believe how skimmate she pulled out in just 1 hour..... more than her other skimmer did in a week!
I was tempted to hang on to one of the Remoras in case of another hurricane.. - but we got a good generator with a DC charging coil, a couple of deep cycle batteries, and a power inverter - so I can run my full rig if we lose power.
Hey Jovreefer,
I looked up the Coralife skimmers - you're right they are cheeep!
But how do they work? Have you used one? Their bigger model costs less than 1/2 of what I paid for my EuroReef.......
If it's any good.............
