I haven't bought a heater in years so i have no idea what the latest and greatest are....

can any one recommend a good heater for what will be a 90g reef?

anyone have one of the titanium heaters? I have the visitherm stealth as well, but I wonder if the plastic on the outside conducts heat as well as glass. I wonder if a 250 watt heater would heat up the same volume of water with the same amount of electricity regardless of whether the thermometer is glass, plastic, titanium. Anyone know?

I'll be at the HS tommorow, i'm there almost every day.

I've wondered the same thing, plastic isn't the best conductor but it seems to work. i do think the titanium heaters are probably better, but you can't beat the price on the stealth.

Scott, you ever see the tank at the hs? It has a serious majano problem. Probably gonna go up after school one day this week and get started with some kalk injections, if you're interested

I've had broken visitherms in the past, and yes they broke on their own (no rough handling). Never tried the stealth one though, perhaps its better than the other lower models?

While I like ebo-jagers, I personally wouldn't put any glass encased heating element in a tank that has hundreds or thousands of dollars worth of live stock.

I saw the tank last year, haven't stopped in recently. Like i said i'm there every day so if you need a hand hunt me down i'll help out. I'll stop in and take a look at it tommorow tho.

i found some but they are 21gauge...don't remember if that is big enough for the kalk slurry...which i am now wondering if i even have....guess it will probably be lemon juice

i have some kalk too. i don't know if my needle is big enough either i never ended up using it, a peppermint shrimp cleared up my aptasia before i got a chance to try it.

i'll be at the hs tomorrow so i'll bring everything in and just stay after, stop by at the end of the day?
