Recommend pump for water changes

Not all garden hoses are appropriate for the transfer of saltwater. It has to be approved for potable water. Another alternative is Pex . Typically it'll be smaller diameter but you'll know it's made with inert substances.

Thanks for all the responses.

How can you tell if the hoses are approved for potable water (food grade??)? Do they sell it at Home Depot or Lowes? I did find some food grade hose but it was going to cost me 150 dollars for 50 ft.

As far as potable water hoses go, the marine industry uses special hoses to connect boats to a shoreside water supply. They look like standard garden hoses, but every one that I have seen has been white. I bet RVs use something similar. It shouldn't be too hard to find.

I only have a 55g tank so I'm not looking to pump out serious amounts of water at a given time...

What would be a decent pump to use for a 5-6 gallon change weekly?
