Recommendation For Demand Water Pump??

Hello,

I plan on setting up a RO/DI unit in my basement with the resulting water stored in a 35 Gal. water tank.

What I am looking for is a water pump that would be able to pump water to a faucet in my kitchen on the first floor...

I would like a water pump similiar to those used in RV's where opening the faucet causes the water pressure to drop and the pump to kick on....

I assume I can not use a RV pump since they have metal internal parts...... Is this correct????..... Are there any materials the pump can be made of besides plastic that would not contaminate the water?????

Any ideas??? Recommendations???

Thanks,
Brian

Will a standard well pump work????

Most of the pumps for potable water that I have found seem to have metal impellers and internal cavities.... I was under the impression the metal parts would be detrimental to an aquarium..... Is this assumption wrong????..... I have been trying to find a pump with all plastic internals.....

What will you be using the faucet water for? If it will be for general household uses I don't see what the problem would be.
Even if it was used for top off water I still don't see any problems. The way I was thinking was that I am on a well and have to use a well pump. I'm sure it is an off the shelf model. Considering that MANY reef keepers are on a well, I can't imagine it could cause any problems.

The faucet water will be used for top offs and water cycles....

Most people run their water through a RO/DI unit so it does not matter if the water came from a well or a city water supply.....

The problem is that I want to put the pump on the clean water side.....

From what I have been reading most fish (etc.) will live in a dirty water environment but a lot of corals will not.......

Currently I do not have any coral in the tank but it is in the plan...

Why not just add a drinking water kit with the pressure tank and faucet? That way you have water on demand all the time. I upgraded to a 14G pressure tank myself.

The metal parts should not to much of a problem, it is pure water and the amount of metals that will leach into the water will be very small.

But I agree with AZDesertRat's idea.
