Recommendation?

Hi guys, wondering if I can get a recommendation now that you've had the controllers for awhile (even tho FCC is holding us back). My tank is 64x32x24. I have four VT's and have paid for four controllers. But my problem right now is that I can't run them at 100% or they will stall from time to time. Hoping the controllers fix that. Having them all on at the same time, say at 75%, they just hit each other and don't reach the sides, which is where the cyano starts. At anything less than 100%, and two on each side, I'm not getting enough flow - and getting lots of cyano.

I loved the wave action demo. How many VT's would I need, and do they all need to be on one side?

Also - right now the top of my VT's are about 5" from the water line. Am I losing velocity/energy this way? I was wondering if some of the flow is lost that high.

Any recommendation to get more overall flow with this many VT's and this size tank would be greatly appreciated. Its a little frustrating having this many pumps and still getting cyano, which I'm fairly certain is due to dead spots.

Thanks,

David

I sure do wish I could get a recommendation .... thoughts .... advice .... acknowledgement ....

I really like your products but at times I'm disappointed in the assistance on a new, expensive piece of equipment. Especially since we're all just kinda out here on a limb ....

Fliger-

Sorry for missing this post. Another option is to call us, our number is on the webpage.

Regarding stalling, that is definitely a weak point of the old driver. The new driver should solve that outright.

Regarding a wave, I would think two on each side of the tank with one master on the right and one slave in sync mode on the right, and two slaves on anti-sync mode on the left would do the trick.

Mounting them lower in the tank will definitely take more advantage of the flow potential, but it will depend on your sand bed. If you don't have a sand bed, mount them half way in the tank.

Sorry, I think I was "Reef PMS-ing" last night. Got home late and had a few issues and a few delays. I know you guys have a lot on your plate right now.

Perfect info - I'll try lowering them today.

Thanks again!

No worries! After today's good news, all of our crankiness can be forgiven! Honestly, the FCC thing has been affecting us all.

Tim, do you think a wave affect would be possible with just two VT's? I'm wondering if I could use two for a wave, and two for flow. Similar to how some tanks have the Wavebox with a couple VT's or Streams for add'l flow.

Thanks,

David
