Recommendations: Fish that won't jump

I have a topless Aquapod 24. So far, I've had a little ocellaris and a firefish jump ship. Does anyone have any recommendations for fish, suitable for a 24 gallon reef, that will stay in the tank?

When I was setting up my tank I looked into this a bit. The concensus was that wrasses, eels, dartfish and other shy fish tend to jump more then others. Fish often jump when spooked. Is you tank in a heavy traffic area?

I say go with seahorses and/or pipefish, fairly slow moving and should stay in the water for you

While they probably won't jump, they also won't do very well in the typical "reef" setup with high water flow, other robust fish, or corals with their stinging abilities.

You could probably place some eggcrate over the top to try and keep fish in, it shouldn't interfere with the lights that much.

Once fish settle down, they tend to be less likely to jump, but are still capable if they are startled.

My tank has no cover of any sort, here is what has stayed in for years:Flame angel, Coral beauty, 6 line wrasse, tangs, Blue angel,Royal gramma,Long nose hawk.I also lost one 6 line wrasse to an out of tank experience. Hope this helps to give you a better idea on what to get. There are no sure bets though.

My flame angel just jumped out of my 75 gallon tank, and I've had 6 line wrasses jump in the past, so no fish is completely safe. I need to lok into a mesh cover for my tank before I consider addinga any new fish.

You can put your fish on a little fish leash weighted down to the bottom with a rock and they will never be able to jump.

Otherwise, I have seen all kinds of fish jump. Recently I had my Porcupine Puffer jump out of QT :( He seemed to be the least likely fish to jump that I have ever owned but he did...

I've been topless for a few years and have never lost a fish to jumping. I have two false perculas, blue tang, yellow tang, two pajama cardinals a fridmani pseudochromis and a sailfin blenny.

I would think that more benthic species, like a reef angler, are less likely to jump since they stay near the bottom most of the time. the LFS has 2 reef anglers that I can't imagine get more than 3 or 4 inches from the bottom. IME/IMO

I have made the unfortunate mistake of assuming that some of my fish were non-jumpers.

"Who Knew" Carpet Surfers That I've Had Jump
5 YO Clarkii
2 YO Flame Angel
1 YO Flame Hawk

"Known" Carpet Surfers That I've Had Jump
Diamond Goby (I've lost two of these)

Also, I have a cover on my tank. All of these fish jumped when I had left the tank open or partially covered (while I was working on it).

I was thinking of something like 3 chromis. Not dramatic, but if they jump, I won't be out a fortune! What do you think?

i have a 24G too, and i have the sunpod over it- but i only have a damsel and he has not jumped yet. This is why i have not added any more fish, because they may jump. i have looked into getting a mesh covering, but i dont want it to interefere with the ligths.

I came home a few months ago to my 2 year old LMB on the kitchen floor, about 8 feet from the tank in the living room. He must have just jumped because he was flopping around. I tossed him back in the tank and he's as good as new. I've since covered the tank with chrome eggrate.

rainfords gobies are my absolute favorite small fish, they stay in the bottom 1/4 of the tank 24/7, so they are unlikely to jump.
