Recommendations for a GFO reactor

We are building our first 75 gallon reef system and I want to make sure we get in front of any algae problems from the start. I am not sure we will have enough room in the sump for the reactor, so we may end up with an external one or one that hangs on the outside of the sump

Since we are new to this does anyone have recommendations?

Thanks

Since this is a new system, be careful. Running GFO in a system that doesn't need it can cause other problems. Watch the BRS videos about GFO and read the documentation on the BRS GFO reactor.

I'm very happy with my simple 2 little fishes ( I think 150 reactor) it was cheap, and does exactly what I need it to do. And, did I mention they are quite cheap. :bounce2:This way you won't have a lot of $$ invested into a reactor if you decide you don't need one.

Reactors aren't always needed, my experience with the BRS reactor was that it was a pain due to clogging quickly.

I just set up a new tank and all I did was threw gfo/carbon mixed together into a pantyhose legging. Makes a nice little bag for media. I'd start with something like that and only get a reactor if you are really having issues.

Note - I mix the carbon/gfo together because the mix helps prevent gfo from clumping.
