Recommendations for a more powerful cleaning magnet

I'm open to any recommendations for a good quality cleaning magnet.
I currently have a MAG FLOAT (2 1/2" x 3") and it's okay, but I need something better to clean the viewing area of the tank in one pass.
It doesn't seem as strong as it was when new, or else the algae is fighting back.

Ray, the more powerful magnets will scratch your tank if sand gets under them, you have to be very careful with them.

They can also be really hard to move, so make sure you get one rated for your galss thickness.

I ordered magnets from here and cut my magfloat open and replaced the magnets with stronger ones. Like Paul said though, be very carefull or you will get scratched or broken glass out of the deal. If i were to let my magfloat just clap together on the glass now, it would most likely break it. It does work nice now, but it is a little much i think. I used magnets that will lift 35lbs.

Thanks for the info. I've checked out the links. Interesting ideas/options....

I already have some nicks in the glass from particulate sand getting under the magnet.
This happens when I get too close to the sandy bottom.

I have found that a toothbrush works great on the siliconed corners of the tank.
I just need to add an extension on the handle.

I'll probably back off of the mega cleaning magnets & look for something slightly stronger than what I have.

I can just see myself putting the new mega magnet into the tank for the first time, accidently having them to slam together.......180 gallons of water all over the floor! :eek1:
