Recommendations for protein skimmer

Okay..I don't have a protein skimmer yet and I know I will need one. I run an eheim wet/dry canister and no sump. I need an off the back for a 75 gallon aquarium. Please tell me which one would be affordable and efficient for my seahorse tank. I looked at coral life brand and it is around 130 dollars which seems too expensive. How good is prism? I know it is cheaper.

if you're just trying to save a buck but get the most bang out of what you spend get a Remora Pro w/ Mag 3, if you want a good skimmer that will do a great job and it has to be an HOB or in tank, look into the Tunze.

What you need to consider is the amount of microbubbles certain protein skimmers shoot out into the tank. The prizm does create microbubbles. I can't comment on microbubbles created by a Tunze as I've never used one.

I use AquaC Remora's on my seahorse tanks and they release very few microbubbles into the main tank. I do, however, still but a sponge at the output to break/catch any microbubbles that escape from the skimmer.
