Just started first SW set up 75g, what does everyone recommend to start out with for medications for QT.. I was going to get 16oz Copper power for ich treatment if need be. and im going to E.S.V Bionic Calcium buffer and Mag.. wondering what else you guys think before i place a order

I like copper power when used as directed in a qt tank with 82 F water temp. It SHOULD CURE OR PREVENT ICK AND OODINIUM. wHAT EVER YOU ADD MAKE SURE you can test for it do not add supplements for which you can not determine the need for .. water changes are your best bet.

Personally, I am a big fan of Seachem Cupramine for the treatment of C. Irritans and other ectoparasites. Be sure to get the seachem copper multi test kit as well, I recommend testing the copper concentration daily if not twice a day.

For flukes and internal parasites, Praziquantel is a big favorite. Another product I have used in the past for these types of parasites is De Los, both are available from http://www.nationalfishpharm.com/products.html.

De los is nice because it also kills fluke eggs, which praziquantel does not. The downside to De Los is that the treatment period is 4 weeks. Also, to my knowledge, it does not impact internal parasites.

I see you're from Englewood, where are you getting the Achilles from. I'm down in Centerville.

I love the achilles, such a beatiful fish. My tank just isn't big enough at the moment.
