I Could Stop If I Wanted
I'm planning on quarantining 3 groups of fish in a 75g and would like to use Chloroquine Phosphate over Copper for ich treatment. Are there any sources you might recommend other than ebay?

Go tot the local veterinarian and have them write you a script to take to the local pharmacy. Explain what you need it for and tell them how many gallons you are treating and have them write out the script for 50-60mg per gallon instead of the 40mg/gallon. It won't be the cheapest med you have ever bought but it will be 99.9% pure. Also see if they have a card behind the counter that will discount the medication, since if you don't have pet insurance your insurance won't cover it.

This. As far as I know it is only legally available by prescription.

Thanks! I figured as much and saw some available on e-bay which was a little suspect to me in terms of quality issues etc.. I've got a call in to my Vet to see what they can do for me so fingers crossed! :)

Also, be sure to specify the crystalline salt form. Many pharmacies will dispense the pill form by default.

A friend of mine got his in 250mg capsules. Which is kind of handy if you ask me, because you can just open them up and dump the medication in. Roughly, each 250mg capsule treats 6 gallons.

I asked my pharmacy about the salt form and they looked at me funny so I'm not sure how easily available that is. To the eBay guy, I bought and used the stuff and it worked for me but others don't seem to be having the same luck. I have a vet prescription backup ready to go too

Weird. I was able to source mine locally with no problem at all. Pharmacist was even interested in what I was using it for.

Yeah I know, and they only had 4 of the 50 pills the script was written for. I haven't picked it up yet but I will ask again before I do if I can get the salt form

My Vet agreed, just asked for some info on amount to write the script for. Excellent point of the crystalline form or capsule option, I will make a point to ask for either one.

As I understand it, I'm looking at dosing 60mg per gallon (15mg/L). Correct?

OK, I'll shoot for 40mg/gal unless they present signs. Thanks!

Any thoughts on ramping up the concentration over several days to aid with fish acclimation? I have a velvet fairy wrasse and 4 firefish goby about to get a prazi treatment then go into CP. I hear mixed concerns on wrasse's.

Might not be a bad idea. The wrasse in CP could be a problem. If he stops eating, get him out.
