red algae help

My current tank is about 3 years old not and I starting having a red slime algae (diatoms) on sand and now some rocks and coral. I'm at a total loss any suggestions would be good. All new filters and membrane on RODI, levels are good. No Nitrate or phosphate (at least the read zero like normal). No other algae issues. The weird part is if I turn the lights off for a day it actually gets a lot worse. This goes against anything I've even experienced. Skimmer is working great and over sized for the tank, sump is clean, socks changed every two days and nothing has changed in the tank. Even added more flow when i had plenty already.

Larry,
I get it every year, sometimes spring & fall.
I wonder if sunlight has something to do with it since I face a picture window.
Chemiclean for me.

The tank does get some sunlight but that's usually only in the winter when the trees are thinned out. Never saw a noticeable change from that. I've considered the chem clean but was concerned using it in an SPS dominate tank. I was trying to leave that as a last resort but im starting to get to that point of frustration. Has anyone here used it with SPS? if so any ill effects? I simply hate adding any chemicals.

I had it couple of years ago used chemiclean it worked great. I have all sps also.Shut down skimmer foe a few days then big water change

Thanks guys. Hit a round of it and it worked perfect. Lost a huge tri color acro from the slime smothering it but at least all is not lost. It was all chalked up to bad membrane on my RODI. Always something in this hobby
