I think what I have here is Gracilaria spp.

I have a lot of it on my rocks.

Do I need a Tang?

If so, which would you recommend?

Thanks,

Steve

I have some stuff very similar to that as well, except I had to pay money to get it. So far it has been a wonderful addition. Cant help too much with an id other than to say possibly Scinaia sp.

Thanks David,
If it is what I think it is, it might be beneficial to have.
I've been doing some research and people actually are buying this. At first, I just wanted rid of it. I've thrown a lot of it away in the past. It seems to do very well in my tank. I think I need a Tang to help keep it under control, though.
There's just too much of it.
From what I've read, Tangs really like it.
