Water:
What are your Prams?
Are you using RODI or Tap water. (Need to use RODI)
If using RODI, Are you making yourself or buying? ( If Buying test it)(Get your own unit)
Lights:
Are lights on a timer?
Main lights should be on for no more then 8 hours.
Cut lights back to 4 hours a day for two weeks.
Then bring up to 6 hours for a week then back to 8
Window:
Is there a window near the tank where it is getting any direct sunlight?
Direct sunlight will cause these issues. Get a shade, blinds or Curtain.
Are you running a Skimmer?
If so, Skim wetter. If not, buy one
Are you using a sump? does it have any Cheato?

how much flow do you have. Slime algaes are usually a product of poor flow.

Probably not algea - buy cyanobacteria.
Red slime remover may work as a short term fix - but it can be a hazard to your tank. Cyano is a bacteria, red slime remover kills bacterial. Sounds good - but then what about all the beneficial bacteria in the tank?
Plus- the red slime medication is only a band aid fix. The root cause will still be there. Added flow and improved nutrient export are the long term cures.

i had red slime for awhile i bumped my flow up its now 2000 GPH in a 72 gallon bow front i have not seen any red slime since i also cut back feeding my tank once a day . the more flow the better its easy to add flow just getting it in the right direction is the hard part

I now I always the one saying red slime remover.I used it worked but yes i second the having to fix the underlying problem, so for me i had to stop overfeeding( they are just so cute it is hard for me not to feed all of the time

Your on the right track by cutting back on your lighting and getting better waterflow. Any dead spots will start some algae growth. You can also do water changes along with these steps to get your parameters where they need to be. Also you can look into adding to your cleanup crew for your tank.
I bought a tank that had the same problem with it. I did these steps and within a few weeks, every bit of it was gone. The guy I bought it from said he had been trying for a couple of months to get rid of it with that red slim remover without any luck. It was actually getting worse. So these few steps do work. Just don't expect it to happen overnight.
