i have only two r&b clowns in the tank cos i want to breed them.
now,the female has found her spot underneath a large living rock and she has sifted all the sand out from underneath the rock and i wondered if this was her getting ready to lay eggs or not.
cheers

Sounds like it. How old are the clowns and does the male display any rock biting behaviour? There are several people in our area who are breeding clowns who would be good to visit and see their setups. I'm not sure if you visit the BRS site or not.

i havnt put a tile in the tank yet for her to lay the eggs on so that i can easily remove them into a broodstock tank ,im not sure if she's laid them allready or not cant see.typical.dont want to lift the rock in case she has and disturb the nest.guess ill have to wait then and just keep an eye out and have a net ready.or shall i take a chance and put the tile in anyway.
regarding the tile what should i clean it with before it goes into the tank?
cheers

go ahead and put a tile in, see what happens. sometimes they just like to move the sand to make it more comfortable for themselves.

ok will do.tile is in so just have to wait and see now.
the dreaded waiting game.will let you know if anything happens.
thanx for the info.
