red angler

Sure, you can do that, but I just net feed the leaf a few and then what ever gets out is for the Angler.

He was back out and about this morning. I wonder if the new lights had him in hiding. They are mostly blue, but a little white in there too.

He ate last night, a ghost shrimp. Man are they quick!

I also turned the lights down and am only running the actinics now, but he still spends most of the time perched under he rock.

Here's an old video I have:

Nice video. I gotta find smaller shrimp too, the one he got he wasn't supposed to. It was as big as him length ways, I didn't want him to get one that big.

How often do you feed?

Read the Frogfish files on here from page 1 to current probly the best info on Frogfish that I've found also, Frogfish.cc good luck with the lil guy

If the fish is a small juvie (which it is), I don't think the third weekly feeding is entirely out of line, as juvies do expend lots of calories growing. The key is not to feed too much at any feeding if you go for that frequency.

Man that is a cool lookin angler exactly the color I'm lookin for or blue but I haven't had any luck at my lfs any chance yours gets in more and would ship?

I think it is by chance they got this one. I could check though and ask. PM me with your address and I will check it out for you.

Could you get your lfs to order you one? I generally see my fish for three days minimum before I bring home. They get them on friday and I pick by sunday. Gives them time to calm down and find out if they eat or not. Couple times the fish has died literally hours before I go to pick it up. I haven't lost a fish I got this way yet.

I was wondering if this guy would be okay for a while in a ten gallon? I would like to move him and be able to use the 40 for a temporary qt tank. Plenty of established live rock to move over.

Shouldn't be any cycle as the rock that would go in there is in with the angler now. Just new water and possibly some sand this time around. Hadn't thought of a 5, but that would be kinda cool too.

If your fish ate a huge meal, I'd give it 3 days or so to let it digest before feeding it again. We just went thru picking out a bunch of small ghosties at the LFS for some new charges...maybe they'll let you pick your own if they don't feel like doing it.

Here is the new angler tank set up and waiting. I figure I will let it go for a night and move the angler tomorrow.
