Red Blasto suddenly receding (Pic attached)

I've had this red blasto frag for about six months. 3-4 months ago there was an accident in my tank and it got stung by a frogspawn. I thought it was a goner but it recovered and started growing again. Then last week it started to recede.

I have no clue why it's receding. Parameters are good and stable. It eats when it's fed but clearly the skeleton is starting to show.

It's sitting on the sandbed and I've moved it into a more shaded area thinking that maybe it was getting too much light (why now after 6 months? Lighting hasn't changed).

Any ideas?

light, bacteria infection, viral, or an unseen pest. The possibilities are numerous. You can start with dipping and inspecting the coral, then maybe treating with antibiotics.

also you didnt state your levels. you say they are fine. do you have this weeks and last week test. what test kits are you using. most likely i would say its a swing of something. if i had to guess nitrates. revive is for dipping for pest. you want to use iodine for bacteria infection. if its even that

also you didnt state your levels.

You're right, because I said they were "good and stable." That would indicate that I know that there hasn't been a swing of anything. An Alk or Nitrate swing would be the first thing I'd suspect. That's not it...

It's also worth noting that this is the only coral that is affected.

,i dont think you even tested for nitrates. but whatever, i wont every answer your post again, everything is ok isnt a respond, if your too lazy to post results why should i give my time to try to help you. also just because only one coral is doing bad doesnt mean it wont go to the second 3rd 4th.

My green blasto did something similar recently. The amphipods in my tank ate everything except the green center. I might have hurt it by bringing up the salinity though, so the amphipods could have just been doing their jobs. Still, watch for amphipods that might be eating it.
